Five Olive Oil wins most innovative design award in New York

Nearly two weeks after the New York International Olive Oil Competition announced this year’s best olive oils, competition organizers decided to also award medals to this year’s top oil package design. Five Olive Oil was voted best innovative design by the jury comprising of New York based leading brand identity firm Sterling Brands.

This is the fifth international award for Five Olive Oil after Pentaward, Red Dot Design Award, Dieline Packaging Award and European Design Award.

Dynamic City Exhibition Opening 22/11/12, 20:00 at State Museum of Contemporary Art

We will be delighted to see you at the opening of “Dynamic City” exhibition on Thursday 22 November 2012, at 20.00 at the State Museum of Contemporary Art – Moni Lazariston. The exhibition which is based on the homonymous painting by artist Gustav Klucis will feature among other artworks our three-dimensional projection, which was presented for the first time in the Designers United exhibition at the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art in May 2011 and a new artwork created specially on the occasion of the homonymous exhibition in collaboration with designer Axel Peemöller. The exhibition will be held at the ground floor of the museum from 22 November 2012 to 27 January 2013 (Opening hours: Tuesday-Sunday 10:00-18:00). The exhibition is curated by Maria Tsantsanoglou, Director of SMCA, and Angela Charistou, Art Historian-Curator at SMCA and is part of the “Invisible Cities Festival – A cosmography” co-hosted by the State Museum of Contemporary Art and the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art.

Berliner Zimmer Volume V / Zagreb

Art direction and catalogue design for the 5th volume of the homonymous successful traveling exhibition organized by Goethe Institut in association with the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art. Berliner Zimmer continues its journey to Zagreb, Croatia and takes place at the Ring Gallery / Croatian Association of Artists. Curation: Birgit Hoffmeister and Iva Kovač.

 

 

Designers United win Gold and Bronze Pentawards 2012

We are very happy to announce that our work for Five Olive Oil and Col & Extra Acrylic was awarded again, this time at the 2012 Pentawards, the worldwide competition exclusively devoted to packaging design. More specifically Five Olive Oil won a Gold Pentaward at the Luxury category for gourmet food products and Col & Extra Acrylic won a Bronze Pentaward at the Other Markets category for home improvement products.

Five Olive Oil has now reached a total of four worldwide awards for 2012 alone (Pentawards, Red Dot Design Awards, European Design Awards and D&AD Awards), while Col & Extra Acrylic a total of two awards (Pentawards and D&AD Awards).

Volvo Ocean Race 2011-12: The official book

39270 is the official book of Volvo Ocean Race 2011-12 – the closest, most widely followed ocean race ever. Designers United created 39270 to provide Volvo, race organizers and sponsors with an inspirational and cost-effective tool for adding value to the thousands of global business relationships built through the race.

For us and our collaborators at Crescendo Brands, it was a privilege to tell a story through the rich medium of sailing photography – a strong genre of sport publishing. Unrestricted access to the Volvo archives provided a rare opportunity to portray ocean racing in a new way, whilst remaining faithful to the demands of a corporate client.

39270 can be pre-ordered at Volvo Ocean Race official store and will be available through major book retailers from October 29.

Volvo Ocean Race 2011-12: Designers United take line honours for race identity work
